Yes, a penny for your thoughts. I mean it when I say it. Every day starting January 1st, 2012 I will ask a question on this page and every person who replies will be putting a penny in a jar. Figuratively. I will be supplying the pennies in actuality and in no way are you being asked to spend your own money.
At the end of the year I will take all the pennies, cash them in and donate them to St. Jude's Hospital. Promise. And every four months I will post how much has been collected.
I want as many people as possible to reply to the questions honestly. You may think a penny is nothing, but when you do the math it can add up to a lot.
This is how it works.
If you answer a question, three pennies are donated. If you reblog the question, two pennies are donated. And if you like the question, one penny is donated. One person can contribute six pennies a day if they do everything. If that one person does all three tasks every day for the whole year (this being a Leap Year--so it is 366 days) they can contribute $21.96. What about ten people? $219.60. 100 people can contribute $2196.00. That's a lot of money, but I would find a way to make it work. I'm happy to donate the money, and this seems like a fun way to do it. If you want to donate money to St. Jude or any other charity that means something to you then please do. It can mean saving someones life. So what do you say? Are you thoughts worth a penny?
